Champ Rule Addition

This hasn't been a problem yet, but I fear it might become one with the increasing number of players. All I want to do is suggest an addition to the current rules regarding champ spawn etiquette. If one player or a group of players is attempting to complete a champ spawn, while another player shows up to to try the champ, the player that just came to the champ sould leave as soon as he notices that other players are already there without trying to join them. If the players noticed that someone else has shown up and left, then they could of course ask him to come back if they need the help.

If there is already a large group of players at a champ, the last thing they would want to do is split the loot with an extra person who wasn't there from the beginning. However, they wouldn't want to be mean asking the other player to leave. This rule would prevent that from ever happing. Hope you consider it. :D

If this doesn't make sense then let me know what part you don't get and I will try to clarify.

I don't do Champs but.....

It would seem if you are doing Champs you are skilled and have already made lots of gold and can make all you need, so why is this even an issue, however,

I understand power scrolls drop into the packs but don't have a clue how these are distributed, if the value or number of scrolls is diminished because of a people jumping into the fray in its latter stages and this is the issue..... so what .....its part of the game... smile and enjoy the camraderie and the assistance in vanquishing foes.

If its a guild raid, then its roleplaying, so...guilds are rich.... bribe the intruder. )

First, champ spawns take a lot of time and work to complete. It's not like you can just walk up, kill a few mobs, and leave with a stack of power scrolls. Currently there are only two that I am able to solo. If I spend a lot of time doing a champ and someone shows up uninvited right before the boss spawns then I would not be very happy splitting the money and power scrolls.

Second, power scrolls are given to the participants according to the damage they do to the boss (not their pets). I don't think that anyone here would ever wait untill someone got to the champ boss then attack it and run off with the scrolls, but I would like there to be a rule against it just in case someone tries it.

Third, if a guild is doing a champ they shouldn't have to pay someone to keep the loot they worked for. If bribing is the only way to get someone to leave a champ then that player is on the wrong shard. If a player wants to join a group doing a champ then they should ask and not just show up expecting everyone at the champ to want him/her there.

I know that all the current members are very kind gamers, and would have no intention of wrecking a champ spawn for another member, but the game is growing and new players are joining. Those players might not be familiar with WP's friendly community. It shocked me when I first joined how nice everyone was. I came from a shard where killing, stealing, and scamming were the only ways to get what you want. New players may come from similar shards and expect it to be the same here. That is who the rule would be directed at.

Yep conflict was created at every turn when champs were created for UO.
Its one if the few ways conflict can arise on WP.
Personally I find guild vs guild conflict an excellent part of the game but only within roleplaying guidelines set by the guildmasters...ie only consenting combat. I doubt the WP big guy will see it this way though.
So....
Without pvp, then entering into an on going champ is a grief tactic.
Entering into a champ just to kill the boss is a grief tactic.
Without a consenting guild, bribery is a grief tactic.
However, others might see it this way....
Camping champs is a grief tactic.
Not allowing others to participate causes grief.
Cornering the market on Power Scrolls is a grief tactic.
Charging outrageous prices for Power Scrolls is a grief tactic.

As for me, I don't do champs.

I did a lot of champions on osi and different private shards with different rules and all I can say is no matter what rules we have there will be players who will not follow them .

As first it is selfish if you want/prefer solo champion so that you can have all PS and cash for self.
Second it is much faster and better for shard to do it with group .Team work bind players and show what for kind of player you or anyone other is.
UO was never about bank balance and items that you have but community of players.

I prefer to do CS with group that know what is doing , help team mates when need and having fun is more important than PS .With no risk from PK there is really no reason to worry about anything here.
When you start doing CS solo be ready to deal with other players. If someone is really rude and try to steal post name on forum so all players know about him/her.Wonder what other players are going to do when he/her is around.

Just 2 cent from me.
