Feedback and Comparisons

With a recent glitch and an inability to connect I decided to check my setup by logging onto another free/open/public shard. (I won't name it.) It allowed me to contrast Whispering Pines. So what do I do with the differences I notice? Well, evaluate them. Note the ideas that were good and not so good as they were implemented in Whispering Pines and compared to other shards (without naming them). So I open up the question for all; what ideas worked, worked well, or fell short compared to themselves and the way they were intended to work or to how the same thing is accomplished on other shards (without naming the other shards)?

Trash collection and reduction...

First, I didn't know that extraneous items left lying around caused lag. At least, I think that's what I was reading on another shard. This makes it much more important than just an eyesore. I can keep my connection clean and lag free; or at least reduce lag if I keep things picked up, even if I didn't throw them down.

Second, I have to applaud the idea of a "bag of devouring" type of trash elimination. The shard I am comparing Whispering Pines to has trash cans but I didn't see the same kind of "bag of devouring" item in my starting items. The thought of having to go TO a trash can made me realize how convenient it had been made on Whispering Pines.

So... cudos for the "bag of devouring" for trash elimination and accolades to whomever thought of it or suggested it.

As item count adds up, it can cause server lag. Therefore keeping trash cleaned up is important on any free shard.
