lockpicking

Ok this one is still bugging me so I want to vent. To get past 95 lockpicking you must do treasure maps below deviously drawn. A guess on how many (from another player) is 50 or more to get to GM. Dungeon chests do not get you past 95. Using the satyr in Twisted Weald doesn't reduce lockpicking so that you can gain off a GM tinker chest. Judginging by the number of treasure maps I have gotten.. 10 deviously or above and 2 lower, it will be a long time before the rest of this stuff is available. To even try to open a devious is 100 lockpicking.

I bought a 110 tinkering powerscroll just to see if that could make a stronger lock. Nope. To me this blocks some content. There isn't a couple of players who can "sell" their lockpicking expertise here. Simply noone I have talked to can open the GM required chests. I don't need everything easy but I like a method pf progress. Dungeon chests used to be able to get you past 95. They don't ehre. So either I am missing something or the drop rate on lower level treasure maps needs to be upped or we, as players, are kind of blocked for awhile.

I spoke with a few of the gms yesterday about this. They are currently in the works of setting up chests that will able us to gm lockpicking. It will be different from OSI and it will be up to us to discover the differences.

Skill gain from player-made boxes (such as those in the NPG guild hall) stops at 95.

After that you have to pick the prisoner chests. Those are the ones that have a noble inside a cage surrounded by orcs and such. There is a chest there as well, and picking it will raise your lockpick skill. The rune libraries have all the available prisoner chest locations.

Be sure to read the lockpicking book at the NPG guild hall. It explains how to make a lockpick macro to get quicker gains from each pick attempt, maximizing your chances.
