I am still trying to get a grasp on how this would simplify things. If we just had one site we listed at, sure, but with 7, I don't see the practicality of doing anything other than having [vote send you to the homepage of WP.

Creating a script to autovote all 7 is a violation of the terms of those voting sites.

What if the [vote command opened a browser window for each vote site? Then a player would merely have to cast his/her vote and close the window, moving on to the next window.

I'll give my opinion on this. I didn't pick this shard because it was in the top 5 on one of the websites. I choose it because of the description. I spent hours scrolling through pages of shards until I found one with a description that I thought I might like. Once I found one, I went to it's website and read a little more about it. I did that for quite a few shards. Then I came upon this one and decided to make an account. Therefore, I don't think that players pick the first one on the list. I think that they choose the one with the description they like. I'm sure being high up on the list would nice because players may not be willing to visit numerous sites, scrolling through tons of pages like me. Thats my thoughts.

Now for the issue with in game voting. I think that the idea GhostRiderGrey suggested below would be the most helpful. That way players wont have to click each individual link. The site would open up automatically. If its possible, make the sites that give you a certain amount of time to enter the letters pop up first.

it might sound messy but couldnt we have 7 website stones one for each voting page? just dbl click em in game make it look like a voting booth or something in brit... does anyone use the stables to the SW of the bank that much heh

about voting the second voting thingy i click it and it puts up two words (and yes i have encryption on) but it impossiable to get it right even with the speach turned on has anyone ever got to vote on that site? if so you must have a very expencive monitor or hi deff system

It takes less than 1 min for me to vote on all the 7 sites. I don't know about the rest but I surf the net everyday even when playing, and I set my home page to WP home page. Yes I must say sometimes one may forget to vote, but when he/she do, It doesn't take long to browse through the 7

That's getting simpler. Is there a way to make all 7 websites open in one browser window under tabs instead of opening 7 different browser windows? It's a good idea unless you have a slower computer, might cause a lot of lag opening 7 browser windows. Just a concern for those who still run less then 1Gig of Ram and under 3.0Ghz P4.

I'll second this, I couldn't figure out what the words were so I gave up trying on that one.

We have no control over the mechanics a voting site chooses to use. I personally find these annoying too.

Hehe, you are assuming that everyone runs a browser that is capable of tabs. Many are not. Also, the code in RunUO for opening a web page is rather simplistic, and at least 2 of the voting sites wont work unless you open the link from the WP page (you can't just arbitrarily open the link, as the vote site then does not know where your link came from (i.e. it isn't associated with WP at that point)).

Ok how about this:

Make the webstone and the [vote command that will bring up one of the voting sites on random.

It wont bring up all seven at once but every time the player types in [vote it will bring up a browser window with one of the voting sites. The sites could be chosen in order or at random. Player goes to the browser and click yes under vote for Whispering Pines, closes the browser, goes back to the game and if he/she wished to vote again, they type in [vote and this time one of the other voting websites opens up... and so on.

Hows that?

Whatever works best for you. I just don't go on the main page really, just the forum. So that's why the [vote would work better for me. I might be a minority in this but incase there are others like me was the reason I made this suggestion.
